Female Riders

Over recent years there has been a steady increase in female motorcyclists. Currently about 40% of our Direct Access trainees are female, and we expect this percentage to rise.

Being a good motorcyclist does not require strength but delicate control, which is one reason why we have such a good results when teaching female riders.

We offer all types of courses to suit individual requirements, ranging from a one-hour lesson to a full day. See the 'Training Courses' section in the left-hand column.

Many women are racing bikes at all levels of competition. Maria Costello made history in 2005 by becoming the first female rider to get on the podium in the famous Isle of Man TT races; she is the fastest women ever to lap the Isle Of Man TT course.
